At present, I am Chair of the Department of Communications and Literature at Ave Maria University.
My research interests revolve around media ecology, semiotics, and rhetoric. Please check out my Writing and Media pages for more of my work.
I hold a PhD (2020) in Rhetoric from Duquesne University, where I studied rhetoric and hermeneutic phenomenology under some fantastic people, to whom I owe a serious debt of gratitude. I also earned an MA (2016) degree in Rhetoric & Philosophy of Communication from Duquesne. For my undergraduate work, I double-majored in Spanish and Computer Science & Information Systems (B.A. / B.S., 2011, University of Mount Union).
I have taught a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate courses over the years. I enjoy learning new material with students and discovering insights in class.
